McLeod Health System
The McLeod Health – Dillon is a state-of-the-art facility with 79 acute care beds, cardiac, women’s, surgical, orthopedic, and other services. Just minutes away in Florence, McLeod Regional Medical Center is recognized for medical excellence in cardiovascular, neonatal, and cancer research. Founded over a century ago, McLeod is a locally owned, not-for-profit healthcare system with more than 800 physicians and 2,000 registered nurses, and more than 8,500 employees. McLeod constantly seeks to improve patient care with physician-led, data-driven, and evidence-based efforts.
The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) MUSC Health Florence Center
The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), with its main campus in Charleston, also operates a facility in Florence. MUSC Health Florence Medical Center is a regional acute care facility comprised of 396 beds, more than 1,500 employees, and nearly 250 physicians representing all primary specialties dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of the citizens of Northeastern South Carolina.
MUSC offers acute care, diagnostic services, women’s health, orthopedic, cancer care, cardiac services, general and laparoscopic surgery, rehabilitation, emergency/trauma care, community health services, and more. The hospital’s Chest Pain Center is the first in the region to be accredited and only 15 in the state to achieve this distinction.
