About the Department
The Information Technology (IT) department of the Dillon County Administrative Office provides various professional information technology (IT) services to all County departments.
The department’s mission is to provide cost-effective, efficient, and coordinated data processing and communications services for all County departments, with a major emphasis on those directly interacting with the public.
Primary County Information Technology Services
- Providing 24-hour-a-day, 7-days-a-week computer operations and systems support
- Coordinates and performs the planning and implementation of systems maintenance activities.
- Provides advice and direction to the agency on purchases of hardware and software
- Provides technical advice to management concerning system capacities and operational environment
- Designs hardware and software configurations; installs hardware and software
- Coordinates the operation of systems; monitors system storage; maintains all system documentation; monitors all system maintenance; maintains records of equipment and replacement plans
- Serves as user contact for problems with system operations; follows through with solutions to problems
- Meets with vendors to discuss and evaluate software and hardware
- Responsible for keeping all hardware (including firewalls, network switches, computers, and servers) and software in compliance with SLED, IRS, DSS, and FBI policies and procedures
